The Holding Ground Festival is a creative activist response that explores the impact of domestic violence on young people.
Over three days, the festival will premiere a new play Holding Ground by Jack Dawson, created in collaboration with Tinderbox Theatre Company. The festival will also feature a lineup of events. Click here for more information about the creative workshops.
This festival is a partnership between Tinderbox, Women’s Aid NI, and Queen’s University Belfast.
Synopsis of the play:
On a trip to the supermarket, an encounter with a distant relative spins Jack back to one of the most traumatic experiences of his life. In just one breath, the bread aisle suddenly transforms into a landscape of memories where Jack has no choice but to confront his past. But will Jack be able to hold his ground? Holding Ground is a play about Domestic violence, resilience, and hope.
Performance time: 45-50 minutes long.
