In this 4-hour hands-on workshop, you'll dive into the rich and expressive world of collage—an accessible and intuitive medium perfect for creative experimentation. Open to all levels, the session focuses on developing your individual style and visual voice through a series of guided exercises designed to spark new ways of thinking and making.
Using found images, personal photographs, text, and mixed media, you’ll explore key concepts like composition, layering, contrast, and texture. The workshop encourages learning through doing, with an emphasis on play, risk-taking, and pushing beyond your usual creative comfort zones.
Whether you're new to collage or looking to refresh your practice, this session will leave you with a set of tools, techniques, and ideas to continue exploring on your own—and a body of work that reflects your own unique perspective.
Materials are included in the price though participants are welcome to bring their own preferred materials.
About the Tutor
Juste Bernotaite is a Lithuanian contemporary artist based in Belfast.
After graduating from Belfast School of Art in 2021, with BA (Hons) Fine Art, she assumed the role of artist in residence the following year. Since then, Juste continues exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions.
Juste’s practice combines exploration of the history of her motherland as well as her personal experiences growing up there. Mainly working with figures and landscape in her work, she uses textured surfaces and works in the mediums of oil paint, pigments, charcoal, ink and acrylic paint.
