All the work of Theatre and Dance NI is underpinned by three pillars: Connecting; Developing and Leading the theatre, dance and performing arts sector. Our strategic aims centre on delivering a strong, highly skilled, well-connected, supported, and diverse sector. We achieve this through artist and company skills development, a programme of bursaries, training, residencies, and delivery of major sector initiatives including Edinburgh Spotlight on Theatre and Dance; IETM; Catalyst, Co-motion, APAC, Youth & Dance Theatre, Archa DVadlo.
At our core is dedicated support to our members with our Membership Assistance Programme, run by Spectrum Life, which provides a 100% confidential counselling service that is available 24/7, 365 days a year. We advocate and lobby on behalf of our members and the sector, building partnerships to give theatre, dance, and the performing arts a strong united voice and increase recognition of its important role in society. We want dance and theatre to be valued and celebrated as a part of everyone’s daily life, ensuring a sustainable future for the arts in Northern Ireland and a credible career path for those dedicated to arts as a profession.
