Our company’s work focuses on young people and on communities which have limited or no dance provision. As well as running five youth engagement projects, one of which is based at The Crescent, we deliver a range of small and large-scale performance projects centered around intergenerational, intercultural and cross community work.
We made The Crescent our office base in May 2019.
Our relationship with The Crescent goes back a long way, even before the company was founded. Members of our team remember when the downstairs ‘studio’ was actually a night club and their feet sticking to the floor as they did morning class surrounded by the ambient smell of stale beer!!! Not so now……the Arts Centre has come a long way. The shared journey through classes with Helen Lewis and David McKittrick, and the inception of Ulster Youth Dance and City Dance, also saw the establishment of the company’s Merge Cru in 2012, its annual youth performance platform Unanimous in 2013 and now since 2019, the company’s Belfast Boys project, all based at The Crescent.
As the natural home for dance in Belfast this connection has developed and strengthened over the years and the journey goes on.
