Gig

BYO

We are excited to announce the first gig in the Second Series of Stripped Down at The Crescent. This Autumn as we welcome to the Cube CHERYM and Monday's Child, with host Gemma Bradley

---

Stripped Down at The Crescent is a series of gigs that brings together some of the most talented original acts currently working in Northern Ireland, performing stripped down versions of their songs.

Usually, a song starts life in a bedroom, a living room, or a rehearsal room, and it grows over time. Eventually by the time it gets performed by a full band or recorded in the studio it has matured and developed. Stripped Down hopes to bring some of these songs back to that early, genuine stage of life.

Stripped Down has been programmed by The Crescent’s Music Associate 23/25, Donal Scullion, who has been collaborating with our Technical Manager, Gareth Doran, to curate the events. Over a number of shows you will discover a mix of established acts, rising stars and emerging talent, representing Northern Irish Hip Hop, R&B, Soul, Funk, Pop, Rock, Indie and more.

These events are BYO; bring along a bottle, sit back and let the music take over, and enjoy these two incredible acts perform in an intimate setting.

The Indie-Punk outfit that is CHERYM, are among the new school of queer rockers that have taken the world by storm. Starting out as a kick-back against the local music scene boys club, their relentless enthusiasm and boundless energy encapsulates who they are as people, and as a ferocious live act. The band's authenticity shines through in their music as they look within themselves for inspiration, only to realise what they have experienced, so many of their fans and peers have experienced as well, resonating so powerfully with their music.

“This band are so tight and under-rated, their 90’s rock roots, really, truly, run deep, and shine brighter than they might even realise!” - Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1

Monday’s Child are an alternative rock band based in Belfast. The band includes sisters Jen on vocals, Lauren on guitar and Clara on bass, and Caitlin Lenfestey on drums. The sisters grew up in a musical household, introduced by their parents to rock, blues, funk, and alternative genres. Their sound blends grungey, upbeat rock anthems with moody, ethereal pieces.

Major influences on the band include The Breeders, Queens of the Stone Age, Hole, Jeff Buckley and Alice in Chains. The band have cut their teeth playing shows around Northern Ireland over the last year, and released their debut single 'One In The Line' in June 2024, receiving air play on BBC Radio Ulster and RTE 2FM.
