NI Science Festival: The Animal Body Book with Jess French

NI Science Festival

We are delighted to welcome NI Science Festival to The Crescent this February for a series of events.

Join children's author and vet Dr Jess French and explore how animal bodies work, and the amazing things they can do.

From a whale's enormous heart and an owl's sensitive ears, to a tortoise's tough shell and an insect's unusual eyes, explore animal adaptations in close detail.

Jess French is a nature lover, TV presenter, author, and qualified vet. She is known for her show on CBeebies, called 'Minibeast Adventure with Jess', which encourages children to explore the outdoors and get to know the bugs around them. She has written two other books for DK, What a Waste, which tackles the subject of sustainability for children, and The Book of Brilliant Bugs, which explores the world of minibeasts. Jess is a keen conservationist and has a passion for oceans and the animal world.

Established in 2014, NI Science Festival has grown to become the largest celebration of its kind on the island of Ireland and in its relatively short lifespan became one of the leading Science Festivals in the whole of Europe.

The festival offers a stimulating and wide range of events focusing on the wonders of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. These events present some of the best scientists from NI and beyond to discuss their work, cutting-edge research and what the future might hold.
