NI Science Festival presents Living Autopsy

This February, The Crescent is delighted to welcome NI Science Festival for a series of events and workshops as part of the 2026 programme.

NISF are delighted to welcome back pathologists, Rebecca Hassard and Rossa Inglis as they take attendees through the process of a post-mortem examination involving a ‘living’ dead body, played by an actor.

The event will show the real instruments used, explaining where incisions are made, how each organ is examined, and what tests might be carried out. It will also explain the role of pathologists, and what circumstances would lead to a post-mortem being required for someone who has died.

This event is in partnership with The Royal College of Pathologists.
