Late Night Art
Our current Late Night Art series has been curated by Conall McCauley! Conall is working with talented Befast-based artists to bring you a series of creative hands-on activities.
For September's edition of Late Night Art, join us for Persian Tile Painting with Iranian artist, educator and Anaka Art Collective Member Mahsa Jahangirpour.
This craft will explore traditional Iranian motifs. These motifs appear in luxurious Persian carpets, stunning tilework, handwoven textiles, ceramics, manuscripts, and magnificent architecture, each telling a story of history, nature, and spirituality.
Iranian motifs often draw inspiration from floral patterns, geometric shapes, and mythical creatures, reflecting a deep sense of harmony, balance, and symbolism. These designs are not merely decoration—they are a window into the soul of Iranian art and heritage.
Come join us and learn how to:
🎨 Recreate the details and harmony of Iranian motifs in your own artwork
🎨 Combine traditional colours and forms with your personal creativity
🎨 Craft a unique piece of art that embodies the spirit of both ancient and modern Iran.
No experience or booking needed - this is a free event with all materials and refreshments provided. As always, no experience or booking required - but get down early to grab a spot! Come along and simply bring yourself, maybe a friend and pop in for a relaxed creative session.
