Belfast Childrens Festival
This March we are delighted to host a series of events for Belfast Children's Festival 2025 including the premiere of new work by Belfast based Maiden Voyage Dance.
Moonlight Dream is a new dance theatre production created for babies aged 0-3 years and their caregivers. This heartwarming show draws inspiration from the comforting bedtime rituals and soothing evening stories that accompany their routines.
Moonlight Dream explores the gentle transition into sleep, the sweet conclusion of the day, and the journey into the world of dreams. The performance is a sensory-rich journey that immerses audiences in a voyage to the moon and beyond, wrapped in the comforting power of lullabies and the calm of twilight.
The story follows a young child who embarks on an imaginative adventure with two delightful companions: a kind bear and a playful fox. Together, they navigate the mysteries of the night sky, discovering shimmering stars, moonlit rivers, and magical oceans. The moon becomes a gentle guide for the young traveller until the long-anticipated sleep is finally achieved.
With live music, this is a wonderful opportunity for parents and caregivers to relax with their little ones and let the dreamy atmosphere of gentle sounds, soft lunar landscapes, and twinkling starlight carry them on a cosmic adventure.
This is a relaxed performance and older children are welcome as the piece is suitable for all.
On Friday 13 March, there are a Special Schools Performances planned which will be suitable for pupils aged 3-14 yrs. Contact education@youngatart.co.uk for more information.
