In this intimate course you will get to grips with the beautiful medium of wire for jewellery making and the endless creative techniques you can use to make your own unique pieces.
Over the duration you will learn about wire types and gauges, what they are used for, how to handle them and the different types of pliers and their uses for forming wire into beautiful wearable jewellery.
Those new to wire work jewellery will start with the basics of how to make the essentials for designs such as wire loops and creating your own findings and clasps before progressing to learn different wire weaves and how to incorporate them with beads and crystals.
Those who already have some wire jewellery making experience are also welcome and will be guided to expand on their skills and learn new techniques.
From stacking bracelets and wire wrapped bead earrings to simple weave designs, you will learn the skills and gain the confidence to create your own fabulous handmade wire work pendants, bangles and earrings.
Please note that included in the cost of this 6-week course are all the wire working materials that you will need.
About the Tutor
Wendy is a full-time jewellery designer and maker. With a background in the fashion and bridal industry her current collections are handmade and shipped worldwide from her County Antrim Studio.
With over 20 years experience she began running workshops across Northern Ireland teaching and sharing her passion for wire work jewellery.
She loves to see students designing and making unique pieces and bringing their own unique flair and creativity to their creations.
