Summer Intensive: Life Sculpting

Learn to make a full pose life model through sculpture! Unlike life drawing or painting, this 3-Day Summer Intensive is an opportunity to 3-D model the human form in clay. You will have the opportunity to learn skills in sculpting with specific tools and hand building, developing structure and shape based on observation, as well as experimenting with techniques and styles from art historical examples. Each day you will create a new figure, resulting in a three-part sculpture you can take home on the final day. Suitable for all ages and abilities.

Included in the ticket price are all the materials you will need for this course.

Tutor Bio

Tara McGinn is a visual artist and writer originally from County Wexford, she completed the MFA in Fine Art at the Belfast School of Art in 2019 with distinction and has since adopted Belfast as her home. She bases her creative practice in Flax Art Studios on Bedford Street.

Her works spans a variety of media including sculpture, moving image, performance, and creative writing. Her work is available for sale through the local curatorial group Uphold NI.
