Learn basic metalsmithing techniques and create silver jewellery you will be proud to wear.
This 6-week course is all about rings. You will make stacking rings, ring bands and set a stone into a ring. You will be guided step by step and encouraged to incorporate your own design ideas through the techniques. At the end of these six weeks, you will have a variety of silver rings that are unique to you.
You will learn how to saw and shape silver, try simple soldering techniques, and receive some tips and tricks on how to finish the piece to a high standard. The workshop is intended for complete beginners, but if you already have experience in jewellery making, you will be able to advance or refresh your skills as well.
All tools and materials are provided.
Materials are £80 per person, which is included in the price. The price also includes the cost of silver and a jewellery box in which you will bring your creations home.
At the end of this course, you will come away with a collection of rings.
You are not required to bring or prepare anything in advance. Wearing comfortable clothes and footwear, as well as reading glasses if you need them, is recommended.
