Would you like to be part of our sewing circle and help create a beautiful fabric wall hanging inspired by the magnificent bird, the Swift?
As home to the largest Swift colony on the island of Ireland, The Crescent invites you to celebrate our housemates while they embark on their epic migratory journey back from to Belfast from Africa. Stop in for as long or as little as you'd like, to help us create a welcome home banner ahead of the Swift’s Spring return.
If you do come along and join us in The Crescent's Coffee shop on a Saturday morning you will find a group of like-minded people for a stitch and a natter as you help create a beautiful piece of artwork, which, once complete, will go on display in our Craft Room, Workshop 1.
No experience is required, just an interest in hand sewing and embroidery as Linda will provide support and guidance. This will also be a great chance for you to take a little time for yourself as you partake in this mindful and relaxing activity.
You may have a little bit of homework to do after each class.
This is a totally free project in celebration of our natural heritage. At the weekly, drop-in sessions all materials will be provided along with tea, coffee, and biscuits.
This project is expected to run for 8 weeks and there will be no session on 18 February or 18 March.
