Join us for this reading group exploring Colm Tóibín's Brooklyn, hosted by actress Jenn Murray (who played ‘Dolores in the film version of Brooklyn).
These sessions will be full of warmth, conversation and adventure as we delve into the story of Brooklyn and its heroine Eilis, the young woman who has captured the hearts and minds of so many. Colm Tóibín's illuminating and captivating prose pulls at the heartstrings like no other. He shines a light on our deepest emotions, grief, love, memory, longing and questioning.
The Brooklyn Reading Group invites you to be swept away for a few hours with friends as we delve into a coming of age journey that will leave you aching for another chapter!

About the Host
Jenn Murray has been a professional actor, working in film, television and theatre for fourteen years. She trained in the Samuel Beckett School of Drama, Trinity College Dublin, receiving her BA in Acting Studies.
Jenn received an IFTA nomination for Best Actor in a Lead Role for her first role in the feature film Dorothy Mills. From then she has worked on films such as Brooklyn, Love and Friendship, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Testament of Youth and Maleficent 2, Mistress of Evil. Television credits include the recent five star series The Lovers on Sky Adlantic, Day of The Triffids, Truckers and The Fades.
In 2020 Jenn was awarded the Oscar Wilde Award in Hollywood as an actor on the rise. In 2021, Jenn starred in the one woman show A Girl Is A Half Formed Thing Off Broadway in New York's Irish Repertory Theatre. She was nominated for Outer Critics Circle Best Solo Performance and received New York Times Critics Pick.
For two years Jenn ran an actors lab in Brooklyn, New York for professional actors and is thrilled to build a lab here in Belfast.
