This is a fun and skilful course that is suitable for beginners and experienced artists that want to develop their skills learning new processes of printmaking. Some previous experience will be helpful, but is not essential.
Over this 7-week course you will be focused on exploring how to create an artwork on paper using printmaking techniques that will not require the use of chemicals or technical equipment to develop its imagery.
In the first 4 weeks you will explore Relief printing techniques which include Linocut and Woodblock. Then in the next 3 weeks you will explore Screen Printing processes. Participants will be working on an A4 format. They will learn how to work with colour using multiple layers, working with water-based inks and explore its different process using paper stencils and fluid stencil methods as well as monoprinting and colour-blending techniques.
Note>> We will not be working with digital imagery as such.
