Poetry

This 10-week course will provide a space for those who have some experience writing poetry but who are interested in taking their work further through group-critique and writing prompts.

Whether your interest is traditional, experimental, performance or anything in-between, you will develop your writing by exploring various forms, subject matters, techniques, and styles.

You will also receive expert, practical advice about submitting your poetry to magazines and journals, helping you get your work out into the world.

  

About the Tutor

Dane Holt holds a PhD from Queen’s University, Belfast. His poetry has appeared in numerous journals and publications and has won several awards, such as the Poetry Book Society’s Autumn Pamphlet Choice 2023 and the inaugural Brotherton Prize, awarded Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage. He is poetry editor of The Tangerine, a Belfast-based magazine of new writing
