Poetry
This 12-week course will use a series of innovative and fun sessions to provide a supportive and creative environment to help you understand the very basics of poetry.
You will learn various poetic techniques such as simile and metaphor, imagery, line and metre, poetic voice and rhythm and rhyme. Each workshop will offer peer led discussions and feedback on your work as you progress.
This beginner course would be suitable for people who have maybe dabbled in poetry or who have simply read poetry for enjoyment and would like to further their understanding and appreciation.
About the Tutor
Wendy Sinnamon is a writer and poet from Portadown, Northern Ireland. She has been shortlisted twice for the Seamus Heaney Award For New Writing and her debut fiction manuscript was shortlisted for Penguin's WriteNow programme. She is an ACNI S.I.A.P recipient. Her poetry has been featured in several publications including Abridged, The Honest Ulsterman and Poetry Bus. Several of her poems are included in the ‘Fusion’ poetry anthology published by Broken Spine Press.
