Oil Painting: Seascape

Painting

Sold Out

Open to beginners and improvers, this oil painting course will see students working on one sustained painting of a beautiful seascape. Working from the same photographic image that will be provided prior to class, students will learn the importance of mapping out the initial drawing on canvas, before moving on to their underpainting. From there, you will learn how to pre-mix your ideal colours through learning about colour theory and progress through the various stages of an oil painting. Throughout this process you will be moving from one method to another, applying paint in thin layers, learning to blend accordingly, and mastering soft edges. The final focus will be on learning the techniques of glazing, velatura and fine details

*A materials list and reference images will be provided prior to class
