If you want to dance but don’t necessarily have rhythm; if you want to let go of your inhibitions but don’t feel confident enough to do so; if you have a song in your soul but no one to dance it with, Nia might well be for you.
Whether you’re an Olympic athlete or struggle to get off the sofa, a Nia class can help you to feel brilliant in your body by helping you to discover the joy of movement.
What is Nia?
Nia Dance is a non-impact, expressive movement practice designed to achieve whole body fitness with cardiovascular conditioning.
Using the movements and philosophies of the dance arts, martial arts and healing arts Nia promotes the development of a deeper understanding and appreciation for the body.
You’ll build your strength, mobility, agility, flexibility and stability and leave class feeling energized and ready to take on the world.
As well as being great for your body, Nia helps condition your mind with a range of choreography and mindful movement techniques to help you become healthier, more vital, self confident and happier. Most importantly, you’ll have a lot of fun!
All levels of fitness are welcome and no experience is required.
Nia is danced barefoot in whatever comfortable clothing that will allow you the full range of movement so come as you are.
No class Saturday 26 October.
About the Tutor
Rose has been dancing Nia since she discovered it whilst living in Beijing in 2015 and it has transformed her life.
She went from thinking that exercise had to hurt if it was going to do you any good to discovering magic through music and movement.
A secondary school language and literature teacher by trade and a traveler at heart, she is now a White Belt trained Nia instructor bringing the Joy of Movement to Northern Ireland.
