Book NowThis course is designed for intermediate advanced players who have completed our Improvers course on the Irish Tenor (4-string) Banjo or Mandolin.
Students with either instrument are very welcome.
You will further develop your technique, expand your repertoire with more challenging tunes and tune sets, and explore ornamentation, phrasing, rhythm, and expression.
The course is taught in a relaxed, supportive environment, with plenty of opportunities to build confidence and enjoy playing alongside others.
Meet the Tutor
James has been playing the banjo for over 20 years and is a skilled multi-instrumentalist with a deep love for traditional music.
A regular performer on Belfast’s vibrant session scene, he has travelled widely across Europe and America, sharing and learning music along the way.
James believes that music is for everyone and is passionate about creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where players of all backgrounds and abilities can feel at ease.
