The Level 1 workshop will provide you with a practical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme and is for anyone wanting to learn Makaton.
No previous experience is required but an adequate level of English language literacy is desirable to understand the teaching.
This Level 1 course will be delivered as four consecutive session. Running from the 9th - 12th June, each lesson will last 1.5 hours each and participants should be able to attend all sessions.
Participants will learn background information about Makaton, hints and tips for effective signing and symbols use and receive tuition in the signs and symbols for Stages 1, 2 and the Additional stage of the Core Vocabulary.
All teaching will be delivered online and therefore it is essential that each participant has a computer with a webcam, a stable internet connection, a quiet environment and uninterrupted time.
The cost of the course includes a Makaton Manual, that will be sent to you by post and which includes the signs and symbols you will learn, and additional digital resources. A signed certificate of attendance will be issued at a later date.
Early booking is recommended as numbers are limited to seven participants.
