Festival Irish Dancing is both a sport and an art form that is unique to Northern Ireland. It is a cross-community tradition and welcomes people from all backgrounds! Festival Irish dancing combines footwork and technique with storytelling and interpretation, allowing dancers to express themselves through performance.
Through this 9-week term you will focus on the fundamentals of Irish dance and slowly build up to learn solo dances such as a reel, some jigs, and even some team dances!
The sessions will be relaxed and fun and will provide you with an opportunity to meet new people, improve your fitness and have lots of craic!
No special equipment is required. We would advise that you bring trainers you could dance in if that is most comfortable for you.
