Introduction to Silk Painting

This course introduces the basics of silk painting and allows you to develop these techniques to create your own pieces as the weeks go on. 

You will also be shown how to stretch and frame the pieces. 

Silk painting is often reported to be a therapeutic medium and with its range of lively colours it can be great fun to experiment with! 

No experience required.

A materials list will be sent to all students before the start of the course. 

About the Tutor 

Beverley Healy is a freelance Artist with a BA Hons Fine Art; PgDip History of Art & Design.

She has been running workshops and classes in healthcare and community settings for over 25 years. This has incorporated working with craft media such as silk painting, mosaic, printmaking, collage and collaborating with other artists.

Her personal specialism is portraiture and imaginative painting, imbued with a distinct love of colour. She has won several National and International Awards and her work is held in public and private collections in Europe and America.

She recently published an art book on a personal theme of faith and promises and this has made its way around the world from Chile to Australia!
