Summer Intensive: Introduction to Mosaic

This week-long Summer course is an introduction to the basics of mosaic. 

Starting with card mosaic you will be shown the methods of mosaic making. Then using traditional glass tiles and broken crockery you will create your own mosaic picture to take home. 

Some materials will be provided but please bring along any chipped or broken crockery that you would like to recycle!  

Once you have mastered the techniques of mosaic you will be able to use it at home to create all sorts of things from mirrors to planters!

About the Tutor 

Beverley Healy is a freelance Artist with a BA Hons Fine Art; PgDip History of Art & Design.

She has been running workshops and classes in healthcare and community settings for over 25 years. This has incorporated working with craft media such as silk painting, mosaic, printmaking, collage and collaborating with other artists.

Her personal specialism is portraiture and imaginative painting, imbued with a distinct love of colour. She has won several National and International Awards and her work is held in public and private collections in Europe and America.

She recently published an art book on a personal theme of faith and promises and this has made its way around the world from Chile to Australia!
