Introduction to Dramaturgy

Playwriting

In this course you will learn the fundamentals of dramaturgy including what dramaturgy is, the role of the dramaturg, and how to give and receive dramaturgical feedback. The class will work together to act as dramaturg on professional examples, before acting as dramaturg on each other’s works.

Participants should come with work they wish to receive dramaturgical feedback on. This can be something they are already working on, or they may wish to complete our Playwriting course beforehand where they will be guided through the writing of a short play.

This course is suitable for those new to dramaturgy or those who wish to freshen up on their understanding of it.

Please note, this 5-week Dramaturgy course can be combined with our 7-week Playwriting course
