Hand-Stitched Historic Sewing Roll ("Huswif")

Craft

Join Linda for a relaxing class learning how to stitch sewing roll that was used in 18th and 19th century as a travelling sewing pouch, mentioned in Jane Austen's 'Sense and Sensibility'.

They were even given to soldiers to sew on buttons etc.

Using genuine antique fabrics as well as reproductions you can create something beautiful as well as useful. It would also make a lovely gift for a stitching friend.

All materials will be provided you will just need to bring some small scissors to class.
