This 12-week Lower Intermediate course is for those who are comfortable with the basic chords and want to continue to progress towards arrangement and perhaps composition.
Students will have to opportunity to build on their skills and one can expand their knowledge of chords and more complex rhythms, taking your playing experience to a new stage.
If bringing an electric guitar, please bring a small amplifier.
About the Tutor
Cian McGrory is a multi instrumentalist and music teacher from Co Down, specialising in guitar and uilleann pipes.
He has been deeply involved with music since his childhood. Having attended the BIMM Institute in Dublin attaining an Honours Degree in Commercial Modern Music.
Here Cian embarked in in depth study of the guitar and developed expert knowledge in a broad range of styles from the blues, neo soul, trad and country. Cian is currently making an impact on the Belfast music scene. As both a piper and guitarist, he regularly curates and hosts traditional music sessions throughout Belfast for key venues and festivals such as Féile an Phobail, Soma and Belfast Trad Fest. As a guitarist he plays in a number of bands featuring trad, funk, folk and rhythm and blues music in distinguished venues such as the Black Box Belfast and Whelan’s Dublin.
