About the Tutor
Moyra Donaldson is a published poet with over twenty years of facilitation experience. She has taught creative writing through a wide range of organisations; academic, literary and community and has been a constant champion for new voices.
She is a mentor and creative writing facilitator for the Irish Writers Centre and mentor for Words Ireland and has mentored poets working towards a first collection. She has worked as an external assessor for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and has been a judge in the Seamus Heaney Poetry Award, the Mairtin Crawford Award and the Brian Moore Short Story Competition.
Moyra has a BA in English Language and Literature and has won awards for both her poetry and short stories. She has six collections of poetry and is published and has read at Festivals in the UK, America, Australia and Europe. Her work is widely anthologised.
Moyra is particularly interested in helping individuals to find their own voice and believes in encouraging both inspiration and craft in the writing process. Supportive in their design, Moyra’s classes also encourage personal and creative development. She has a wide-ranging knowledge of the literary scene, outlets for publication and other opportunities.
