Throughout this 10-week course you will experience drawing from the clothed figure.
Using both black and white and then coloured media you will learn to assess composition, proportion, negative space, varied texture and the value of personal expression.
The tutor will assist you to work both accurately and selectively to develop your own figure drawing as an end in itself or with a view to further your figure and portrait work.
This course is suitable for both beginners and improvers. A flexible materials list will be provided ahead of the course starting.
Tutor's Materials List:For black and white - charcoal and putty eraser and a range of pencils with sharpener and eraser.
Your own choice of coloured dry media - oil or conte pastel.
Plus fixative as appropriate.
We will start with black and white so no need to bring coloured pastels in week 1.
About the Tutor
Beverley Healy is a freelance Artist with a BA Hons Fine Art; PgDip History of Art & Design.
She has been running workshops and classes in healthcare and community settings for over 25 years. This has incorporated working with craft media such as silk painting, mosaic, printmaking, collage and collaborating with other artists.
Her personal specialism is portraiture and imaginative painting, imbued with a distinct love of colour. She has won several National and International Awards and her work is held in public and private collections in Europe and America.
She recently published an art book on a personal theme of faith and promises and this has made its way around the world from Chile to Australia!
