Enhancing your Teaching Practice: Structured Editing

Creative Writing

New Workshop

This half-day workshop will introduce you to the Creative HAZOP (CHAZOP) technique, a structured, collaborative editing method for use in a workshop setting. Aimed at beginner writers, CHAZOP uses techniques that were originally inspired by software engineering to provide a logical series of gentle, team-based prompts to help your students improve and refine their stories.

We will provide you with the skills you'll need to incorporate the CHAZOP technique into your own workshops, as well as guiding you through the benefits which it offers to students without formal educational qualifications in creative writing. If you're looking to broaden your teaching practices, CHAZOP will give you the tools to engage your students with the editing process, as well as help them fight imposter syndrome and writer's block.

Event in Partnership with QUB and University of Hertfordshire
