This course is part of tutor Linda O'Kane's Autumn Term embroidery series. Join us for one or both projects to develop your sewing and making skills in a fun and supportive space! On this course, students will embroider their own book-bag inspired by the art of May Morris. In the first course, beginning in September and bookable separately, students will make an embroidered linen box for practical and beautiful home decor.
In this 5-week course, you will be simulating an embroidered bag stitched by May Morris for her father William Morris. It has a pomegranate and flowers stitched on a patterned background.
All materials will be provided but please bring some embroidery scissors to class.
About the Tutor
Linda has worked in the Antiques/Interior Decoration trade for over 30 years.
As a self taught Decorative Artist she has worked in homes throughout the UK, including some superior hotels. She has a City & Guilds in Floristry and loves to grow her own flowers.
A life long love of sewing, patchwork and cross stitch has enabled her to gain excellent experience over the years. She really enjoys teaching, sharing her knowledge and hopefully inspiring others to get creative.
