This Beginners course in Drama will equip participants with fundamental acting skills.

Throughout the term, we will explore theatre with practical exercises in voice work, movement, and performance techniques, building confidence, and opening your imagination within a collaborative space.

This course is ideal for anyone looking to develop their performance skills, express themselves more fully and learn about the world of acting.

Course Objectives:

  • Develop foundational acting skills: Learn practical techniques for ensemble work, scene work, character development and sight reading.
  • Boost communication and confidence: By exploring and presenting various materials in different styles participants will work on refining their delivery.
  • Enhance mental well-being through creative expression: Participants will gain a greater sense of self-awareness and emotional expression.

 

If you've ever thought about acting, or you're a little rusty, this foundational course is the perfect place to take that first step towards your place on the stage!

 

No sessions on 27th January and 10th February.

 

About the Tutor

Wilson McDowell is a working artist with a passion for helping others discover their creative voice. As an actor, writer, and director with training from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and The Lir Academy, Wilson has performed in diverse productions across the UK and Ireland since 2017.

 
He brings a wealth of professional experience, as well as experience in various educational programs with the Belfast Met, Green Room Ni, Shine Bright and others ...
