Traditional Irish Banjo and Mandolin: Improvers

This course is designed for improvers who previously completed our Beginners course on the Irish Tenor (4-string) Banjo or Mandolin, or those with some experience.

Students with either instrument are very welcome.

You will continue to learn the basic techniques and some simple, enjoyable tunes, all in a relaxed and supportive environment.

About the Tutor

James has been playing the banjo for over 20 years and is a skilled multi-instrumentalist with a deep love for traditional music.

A regular performer on Belfast’s vibrant session scene, he has travelled widely across Europe and America, sharing and learning music along the way.

James believes that music is for everyone and is passionate about creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where players of all backgrounds and abilities can feel at ease.
