Summer Intensive: Elementary Ballet for Adults

This class is suitable for people that have a good understanding of the basics of ballet and have an experience of doing beginners ballet for at least 2 years.

In this intensive week we will work on improving and strengthening our technique in the bar, before moving in the centre where we will challenge ourselves by learning new steps.

The class is focusing on musicality, movement qualities, and muscle strengthening.

About the Tutor

Vasiliki Stasinaki is a member of Maiden Voyage Dance Company here in Belfast. She is a dance and visual artist who was born in Greece but is now based in Belfast based and who studied at the Greek State School of Dance, the Greek National Ballet School and Northern School of Contemporary Dance. She has worked with numerous companies such as the Greek National Ballet, Ludus Dance (UK), Pair Dance (UK), Maiden Voyage Dance (NI), Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre (NI), Springs Dance Company (UK), Liz Roche Dance Company (IR), Tinderbox Theatre Company (NI) and Company Philip Connaughton (IR).

Additionally she has collaborated with choreographers such as Evangelia Kolyra, Filip Van Huffel, Fearghus O’Conchuir, Freddie Opoku-Addaie, Enrique Cabrera, Eleesha Dreannan, Darren Ellis and Rachel Lopez de la Nieta.

Vasiliki has also studied art and design at University of Arts London and Belfast School of Art, Ulster University.
