Join poet Scott McKendry for a workshop where he will will guide participants in writing poems about the future, both in the personal sense and the public sense
Hope and aspiration, relying so heavily as they do on sincerity, have been great sources of poignancy for lyric poets.
When all around us things are falling apart, we dream of better times to come; imagination is our cheapest survival tool. Then, as we laugh at ourselves crying in the mirror, such poems often give way to irony.
In this two-hour workshop, you will discover how to forge something new in this age of anxiety and uncertainty – something touching, something funny – by meditating on what might be.
This workshop is in association with Quotidian - Word on the Street Limited and Poetry Jukebox.
