Instruments
This course is for those new to the African Drums and those who want to delve deeper into African rhythm.
Learn djembe technique, learn traditional rhythms, and you will develop a understanding of, and ability to ‘feel’ polyrhythms. You will also experience the joy and connective power of playing drums with a group of people.
Familiarity with playing a Bass, Tone, and Slap on the djembe (don't worry if your slap isn't perfect!) is useful, but not required. Or simply having some experience in playing simple rhythms alongside other people.
There will be drums provided, but if you have a djembe, bring it along.
