Dance
This course is an extension to The Crescent's Tap beginners course or for those who are ready for a greater challenge. This course may also suit those who have tapped previously at an intermediate/advanced level and wish to return after a break.
The sessions focus on building on foundational tap steps previously learned with more advanced variations, working on more complex rhythm patterns and combinations, as well as new steps like wings, maxi fords, time steps etc.
This course will also focus on developing greater speed and clarity in tapping, as well as musicality, timing and improvisational skills like Jamming.
You will learn different styles of tap dancing from the more traditional styles as performed by Fred Astaire & Gene Kelly to more modern styles popularised by groups like Tap Dogs & Syncopated Ladies.
As well as the individual steps, you will work on learning new combinations to music which will change over the length of the course.
Previous training is required for this level, and you will require tap shoes.
