This course is an introduction to Tap for those new to this style of dance.
The course focuses on learning simple tap steps followed by basic Rhythm patterns with simple combinations that include shuffles, stomps, riffs, pullbacks, etc. A step-by-step guide will be used to help teach you the essential steps sounds and rhythms!
You will focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement, but mostly have fun whilst trying something new.
You will also learn about the different styles of tap dancing from different performers such as Fred Astaire, Honi Coles and Gene Kelly.
No previous training is required, but you will need tap shoes.
About the Tutor
Zoe started studying Musical theatre when she successfully auditioned to join full time Theatre school 'K-bis' at the age of 6. While training she completed all grades in ISTD jazz, modern and tap and RAD ballet. Aswell as all grades in Trinity Guildhall Musical Theatre and Drama. During her ten years at the school she was involved in several professional West end productions such as Whistle Down The Wind, Jesus Christ Superstar and Turandot.
She then trained in Musical theatre at The MGA Academy Of Performing Arts. After she went on to gain her RAD Ballet diploma in dance teaching and ISTD diploma in dance instruction in tap and Modern. She then went on to teach Musical theatre and Jazz technique at her previousTheatre school K-bis before taking on a tour in Mallorca.
