The key focus of this 6-week course will be on equipping actors with the skills they need to confidently approach self tapes and in person auditions. Throughout the term you will be analysing script for performance. Looking at beats, character and intention of scene.
Learning how to analysis and approach scripted material and develop character in a short space of time. Looking at different genres of work from commercials to television and film.
About the Tutor
Charis has been working as a professional actress and drama practitioner for around 15 years with a BA Hons in Theatre Arts and diplomas in Performance Art and Musical Theatre.
For the past few years Charis has worked mainly in television and film with recent roles in ITVs Malpractice, AMC’s Moonhaven, Virgin TVs Faithless, BBC Teds Top Ten and she’s just wrapped on Netflix How to get to Belfast from Heaven.
Previously she has worked as a freelance theatre director, teacher and producer working mainly in London theatres.
Charis has a real passion for teaching and empowering people through drama. She strongly believes that acting isn’t about being someone else. Instead it's about using who you are to breathe life into different perspectives and walks of life.
