This course would be aimed at anyone interested in pursuing acting as a career or who may be curious about the profession.

During our 8 weeks we will be looking at the differences between screen and theatre acting. With a focus on 'Getting into Character', the art of acting, presence and the foundations of character work. Through this we will explore script analysis, breath-work, focus, improvisation, movement and scene work building up to 2 performances. One will be a monologue performed to camera and the second will be a duologue performed live.

We will also be looking at  'Acting as a Career'. An opportunity to learn more about the mechanics of work in the on-screen industry with valuable guidance and practical tools. The class will explore elements such as: understanding different types of T.V. roles; navigating 'On Set' with professionalism and preparation; dealing with imposter syndrome & self-care; headshots; memberships; agents and more.

This is an opportunity for new actors to build confidence on both stage and screen, learn about their strengths as performers and ask questions, preparing students for a career in acting.

Please prepare a monologue of your choosing for the first class. During the course, mock 'self-tapes' will be filmed on participants own smart-phones or, if students do not have one available, the tutors'.
