The sea has been a source of inspiration for writers in Ireland for centuries.

This workshop will explore how poets have been immersed in the sea in their poetry, considering the open sea and coastlines, sea birds and underwater animals, voyaging and migration.

We will also consider how this is changing in the context of climate change.

The workshop will closely read poems by established writers as well as perform our own explorations through generative writing prompts.

This workshop is open to all levels and, while its focus will be on poetry, is open to all genres.
