Come along and make some time for yourself at our new monthly journaling meet-up as part of Late Night Art at The Crescent, led by Ian Megrath.

Each month the session will explore a different theme through a gentle mix of journaling, creativity and conversation. You’ll be guided by prompts to help you write, doodle, reflect and explore your ideas — with no pressure to be a “good” writer or artist. The prompt for this session is folklore. 

Whether you’re new to journaling or already have a well-loved notebook, everyone is welcome.

A welcoming space to slow down, get creative and connect — one page at a time.

 

Practical Info:

• When: Late Night Art is the first Thursday of the month and The Crescent’s activity is between 6.30 - 8.30pm
• Location: Cafe Husk at The Crescent
• You don’t need to pre-book, and you can pop in any time
• Please bring along a notebook. All other materials will be provided
• About 14 people can be journalling at any one time, but there’s plenty of space around to enjoy refreshments

This is a great activity to enjoy by yourself or with friends and family. A welcoming space to slow down, get creative and immerse yourself in Belfast’s art scene!

For over 10 years Late Night Art has run across the whole of Belfast on the first Thursday of every month with many galleries opening their doors for an evening celebration of the vibrant visual arts scene.

 

About the artist:

Ian Megrath is an avid journal keeper and analogue enthusiast. Having fallen into the journaling habit during lockdown, he discovered the practice of journaling was a great creative outlet for recording ideas, emotions and the simple joys of everyday life. Knowing the beneficial impact journal keeping can have on mental health from personal experience, he hopes to encourage others into exploring this useful tool to express and reflect.
