Book NowThis course runs for 12 weeks of the autumn term and is designed for absolute beginners. It’s a machine sewing course and intended for anyone wanting to make their first garment. The garment is a blouse or dress using the Love Notions Rhapsody Blouse or dress pattern. The pattern is included in the class and you will be provided with both digital and printed copies. There are options for different necklines and sleeves. And you can choose any of the options for your project.
Ahead of the course starting, you will receive a materials list with instructions on what fabric to buy, how to shop for fabric including online shopping and what to bring to sessions.
The course is open to all genders and if you would prefer to make a pattern more traditionally male, please let me know.
Meet the Tutor
Evelyn has been sewing her own clothes for over 10 years. She has always loved textile arts and is an avid embroiderer and sewist. She has an extensive knowledge of garment making and fitting and is looking forward to sharing it with you. She teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced classes for everyone, from those who are nervous to thread their sewing machine, to improvers who want to try new skills and adventurous details.
She welcomes all abilities and has a friendly, relaxed and adaptable teaching style. These classes are open to all but please note that intermediate and advanced classes will require previous experience.
