Making work since 2017, the Award-winning Belfast Ensemble creates Music-Theatre/Opera Productions in its home city, and tours across the UK and ireland.
Tell us a bit about what your company does.
The Belfast Ensemble is an ever-evolving collective of Belfast artists. Occupying a ‘free space’ in the artistic life of our city, and delivering cutting edge music-theatre work, we blend contemporary music with video, design, spoken text and voice to create ‘music-theatre and opera as event’.
Recent productions have included the award-winning opera ABOMINATION (Southbank Centre, Brighton Festival, Abbey Theatre Dublin, Lyric Theatre Belfast, Outburst Queer Arts Festival), PROPAGANDA (Belfast International Arts Festival, Lyric Theatre), MASS (Outburst Queer Arts Festival, Ulster Orchestra), and THE MUSICIAN (Belfast Children’s Festival, Queens Film Theatre).
