Did you know… What’s now the front of the Crescent Arts Centre was originally the private accommodation of Margaret Byers, pioneering educational reformer and founder of Victoria College. This building was commissioned by Mrs Byers as one of the first girls schools in Northern Ireland. She lived in these quarters until her death in 1912, which is why the University Road facade has a more domestic feel than the Lower Crescent entrance.
