Join us for the 9th edition of Belfast Guitar Night as we welcome to the stage Dom Martin and Amrit Sond.
Dom Martin is a Belfast born singer/songwriter, who in the past 12 months he has burst onto the UK and Irish music scene with a unique guitar style and voice delighting the audience at every venue. His main influences are Rory Gallagher, Tom Waits, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters.
A BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 2 play listed and BBC Radio 2 Blues Show live session artist, Dom has impressed with his debut original EP “Easy Way Out” with BBC presenter Cerys Matthews describing it as “absolutely wonderful stuff.” His debut album is due before the end of 2019.
Having just completed his debut sell out “Spring ’19 UK tour” to rave reviews, Dom continues this year performing at major festivals in Ireland, the UK and Switzerland. With two further UK tours planned for the autumn and a European tour in 2020, this unassuming young musician is another fine product of the famous Belfast music factory responsible for Sir Van Morrison, Gary Moore, Brian Kennedy and on the developmental side, Rory Gallagher and Katie Melua.
Dom Martin is a man on the move whose progress should definitely be followed closely.
Grammy Award Winner Amrit Sond has graced the same billing as some of the world’s most renowned Guitarist’s on the scene today; Dominic Miller (STING), Hugh Burns (George Michael), Ronnie Johnson (Van Morrison, Leo Sawyer) to name but a few.
His unique contemporary instrumental music draws on elements of World Music, Jazz, Classical and New-Acoustic all honed into a highly refined and melodically driven compositional approach. He is also a two time GSMC Award Winner for Instrumental Artits of the year (2016 & 2019) an he is signed to Solid Air Records in the USA.
