Painting
This interactive and live workshop is an introduction to the basics of silk painting. During the workshop you will learn the different techniques of silk painting and create 2 simple pieces using 2 diverse silk painting methods. Come and have fun with colour and see what appears! No experience is required.
Workshop timetable:
Friday 7- 8pm: introductory and preparatory session.
Saturday 10-4pm silk techniques followed by 2 different styles of silk painting.
Students will need to provide their own silk, frame, paints and liner. Tutor will provide a more detailed list including possible stockists - materials costs are expected to be approx £35 but will enable you to create further pieces beyond the duration of the course. About the Tutor
Beverley Healy is a freelance Artist with a BA Hons Fine Art; PgDip History of Art & Design.
She has been running workshops and classes in healthcare and community settings for over 25 years. This has incorporated working with craft media such as silk painting, mosaic, printmaking, collage and collaborating with other artists.
Her personal specialism is portraiture and imaginative painting, imbued with a distinct love of colour. She has won several National and International Awards and her work is held in public and private collections in Europe and America.
She recently published an art book on a personal theme of faith and promises and this has made its way around the world from Chile to Australia!
