In a friendly atmosphere you will learn the basic techniques and rules of this beautiful writing and have fun creating a masterpiece!
In the workshop you will discover the ancient way of writing of the Cherry Blossom country and its connections to Japanese Zen traditions.
No particular skills needed but please bring an apron!
About the tutor
Fashion design major Kasia was born in Lublin, Poland in 1975.
In 1998 she moved to Japan where she worked for 13 years as a dancing dress designer and developed her passion to all things Japanese.
She studied traditional Sumi-e style painting and Ukiyo-e style painting under Japanese masters while living in Japan.
She also learned the Japanese way of writing; Shodo- Japanese Calligraphy.
Kasia moved to Northern Ireland in 2011 and currently teaches arts including Sumi-e, Ukiyo-e and Japanese Calligraphy across the country.
She is also Mixed Media tutor and arts and crafts facilitator for adult and children groups. She takes a part in many arts and dance projects across the country working with arts organizations and schools.
She is an exhibiting artist (in various styles) since 2010 and her love of all things Japanese is reflected in her artwork.
