This advanced course aims to build upon your understanding of the the basics of burlesque and look deeper into the art of performing and creating burlesque routines.
Throughout the course, the use of props, fans and a variety of different clothes will be used to enhance your own solo piece. You will be given the bones of a routine, the building blocks for you to create your own unique piece.
Basics such as bump and grind will be used as well as introducing comedy and neo elements. You will focus on body positivity and feeling confident to make burlesque pieces that are empowering as well as sexy.
This class is perfect for those who may wish to perform but also people want a creative outlet and enjoy doing something fun and exciting.
About the tutor
Being involved in dance and theatre from the age of 5, Soup went to study Choreography at Dartington College of Arts - a leading university of contemporary arts.It was here that she started performing burlesque as part of the troup.
She moved to Berlin after graduating and started performing solo pieces, not just in the cabaret but also more experimental performance art pieces.
Once moving to Belfast, Soup created Belfast Tease-o-Rama and the Belfast Burlesque Festival along with producing a number of other shows and events in Belfast.
She has performed all over Europe including London Burlesque Festival, Kinky and Quirky, Glastonbury, Electric Picnic and many different shows in Dublin and is a regular performer at Cabaret Supper Club, to name just a few.
