Based on the work of Dorothea Brande and her inspirational book Becoming a Writer, this course will encourage you to adopt the skills and mindset of a writer.
Using practical and engaging exercises we demonstrate how to reduce resistance to writing by creating a regular writing habit which uses the conscious and unconscious mind, fully engages the imagination and stops your inner critic taking over control.
At the end of this workshop you will have a clearer idea of yourself as a writer, what your abilities and weaknesses are and the conditions under which you write at your best.
About the tutor
David has extensive experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of personal development training across the UK and Ireland.
Educated to Postgraduate level, he has a Certificate in Training and Development, CMI in Project Management, BTEC in E Learning and a Professional Certificate in the therapeutic use of Mindfulness.
He currently delivers successful writing courses including, Boost Your Writing Brain, Mindful Writing, Journaling for Mental Wellness and Your Story in Your Way.
David has also published several short stories and written a column for the Irish News.
He has a passion for researching, designing and delivering training that empowers writers to write and creates a fun, interactive and dynamic learning environment.
